Cycling Infrastructure – a welcome step

The government in Delhi is working towards improving the cycling culture and infrastructure as it will revamp 540km of city roads with cycling lanes under its new cycle sharing project. Also, the Delhi Development Authority (DDA) is establishing 16-km exclusive cycling lanes in Dwarka. In another new project for Delhi’s Dwarka, DDA has plans to provide 5,000 bicycles and 250 docking ports. Similar projects for South Delhi are also in place, where 82 e-bike stations will be developed this year. The idea of developing cycle infrastructure is influenced by many foreign cities like Paris, New York, London, Hangzhou, Amsterdam, etc, which have invested heavily in cycling infrastructure.
