There was once a Sparrow.

Bhallo asks Saloni about the bird which is picking straws from the thatch. Saloni tells her that the bird would make a nest around them only and they should go to Kaka to know more about it. Kaka tells them that the sparrow makes nest in and around human settlements instead of forests. But it is disappearing. Kaka also tells them that sparrows feed on small insects and protect crops but the pesticides are proving to be harmful to them as well as the mobile towers. The radiation from mobile towers has a damaging effect on their eggs. Also sparrows are called barometers of the environment as they can sense any untoward climatic change and it is therefore important to save them. By Ajay Srivastava, Chetna NGO
